F. A. Hosch studied under Stephen Kleene, J. Barkley Rosser, and L. H. Landweber at the University of Wisconsin. He is a graduate of the Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Jaime Niño studied with Karl Hoffman at Tulane and Dana Scott in London. He is a graduate of the Universidad Nacional, Bogota.
