Current Lab Members : Manuel Zubieta

Manuel has a double bachelors in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of New Orleans. He is currently pursing a PhD at the University of New Orleans in the DENAS program.

Manuel has worked on the modeling of the HIV surface protein GP160 for the creation of a double variable region antibody. His work has aided in understanding experimental results.

Manuel is currently working to test the performance of a novel optimization algorithm that he has created, with applications towards protein structure prediction. The algorithm uses a binary tree of states, within a Monte Carlo Simmulation, to explore regions of a energy hypersurface that may lay beyond a local minimum.

Manuel's senior seminar discussed an early version of this algorithm. Those slides can be found at his website.
