Hacking: Scalpel to be released shortly, et al

Long absence, much hacking. I'm putting the finishing touches on my new open source file carver, Scalpel. Details here when it's available for public release. I'm cleaning up the code a bit more and will wait for some feedback from the beta testers.

Current punchline: It's mighty fast. It was motivated by my dissatisfaction with the speed (and memory requirements) of most of the current file carvers. Scalpel runs comfortably on a P2-350 w/ Knoppix, outperforming Linux file carvers on the same platform and Windows file carvers running on much faster boxes.

Also working with Frank Adelstein on automated generation of digital forensics assignments and with some students working on "not yet ready for prime time" forensics software.
