How do I use a floppy disk under Solaris?

You must perform the following steps as outlined in the screenshots that follow:

1. Click on the highlighted part of the panel and on the Applications icon.

   

2. Double click on the System_Admin icon.

   

3. Double click on the Open Floppy icon.

   

4. You should now see a window with the contents of your floppy disk. You can drag and drop files from your floppy disk to your UNIX account and vice-versa. Simply open another File Manager window to facilitate dragging and dropping of files.

   

5. After you are done with your floppy disk, do NOT simply press the Eject button or your disk may become corrupted. You must instead do the following: double click on the Eject Floppy icon as shown in the following screenshot.

   

6. You will now see the following message. Click on Ok.

   

7. You will also see the following message. Simply close the window.

   

8. You may now eject your floppy. That's it!
