Current Lab Members : Christopher M. Summa, Ph.D.

About Me

I am a proud graduate of Penn State Univerisity (B.S. Biochemistry, B.A. Russian) and recieved my Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Pennslyvania in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, was a postdoc at Stanford University and now find myself a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at University of New Orleans! I take great pride in mentoring students, and I believe that they appreciate the work that I do with them, which is all the thanks I need. A team of recent students took 2nd place at the Supercomping 2010 programming competition, and Manuel Zubieta, a new Ph.D. student in my lab, recently led a team of students from around the country to a 1st place finish at the XSEDE 2012 programming competition.

See what I teach

I have been the faculty mentor for UNO's student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery and have recently taken over the mantle for the local STARS Alliance, a consortium of universities dedicated to broadening participation in computing.
